STICKER SHEET PIN PRICKING

Its always good to find a new way to use an old product - I'm sure someone else has probably thought of this, but as I haven't come across it before I'll stake a claim!

Its a simple idea - after you remove the sticker from an outline sticker sheet, use the remaining outline as a guide to pinprick the pattern onto card.

You can either remove all the pieces and reassmble them on the card (difficult and hard to use more than once) or just cut around it and hold it in place with Magic tape whilst you make the holes!

MARKERS WITH SPRITZER

SPRITZED SHAPES
The Tim Holtz spritzer which is designed for use with Distress markers is very poular at the moment.  These examples were done with a "kiddy version" of this tool, which blows air across the tip of the markers, spattering the colour on the page.  I used some unloved generic pens as well, so imagine a much better result with the "real thing."

The samples were made just to explore a couple of techniques and to see if I wanted to buy the more upmarket version of the tool.  The first is just to spritz through a punched hole, which as you can see worked quite well.  The second is a daisy punched from a piece of paper with colours sprayed over some outline stickers which were then peeled off.  This worked OK too, so...maybe my bright orange spritzer will do for now........

Outline Stickers with Dimensional Magic

DM+Stickers+Pens
I am beginning to like the idea of using alcohol makers (Kaiser pens) under Dimensional Magic.  The beauty of using outline stickers as a base is that the outline forms a little wall that stops the Dimensional Magic from "escaping" as easily as it otherwise might.

In this example I've coloured the large purple flower petals and leaves and just the centres of the smaller yellow flowers.  As has often been the case, the effect, although still on the subtle side, is more apparent in reality than on screen.

I'm kind of coming around to liking outline stickers again too!!!!

KAISER FUSION MARKERS ON DIFFERENT SURFACES

SOME THINGS TO COLOUR WITH KAISER FUSION PENS
I've just treated myself to some of the new Kaiser fusion pens.  I haven't really played around much with  alcohol markers before so I'm still at the experimental stage.

So far.....they work well on peel-off stickers and silver rhinestones but the colour is affected by the surface so in this case both turned out several shades lighter than the tomato red marker marks on white paper.

The colour was "truer" on the gold split pin, although this was harder to colour than I had anticipated - there may have been a coating on the metal??  Some "blingy" trims (Green Tara) coloured really well (and yes I did use purple for the second one, it isn't a weird colour effect!

Overall I was pretty pleased with the results but have made a note to myself to colour test first if I'm colouring an unusual surface to make sure the results will be what I'm seeking.  I'll be experimenting more in the near future.

OVERSTAMPING

I'm doing a demo for work that involves ATC styled cards and made this one for that reason.  Its about as simple as you can get in this regard.  All the stamps came from a Stamp-It uncut sheet, and the technique was just to stamp them, each on top of the other, using a different colour of ink for each.  I did have to experiment a bit to get the colours in an order that I liked but all in all its a very quick technique that looks a lot better than I had anticipated i.e. I plan to do this more often.  The word "Free" was made with Kaiser alphabet stickers - I didn't have any that looked quite right so I just smeared some black ink over some cream ones.  As mentioned, I was doing this for a reason, and I think if I was just making something for myself I'd probably substitute a stamped word for the stickers

SEWING ON STICKERS

There are lots of different ways to add stitching to cards and scrapbook pages.  This is a super simple one, as this bag sticker comes with pre-marked patterns. The stickers are transparent so you can chose your background.  A plain colour is probably a good choice if you want the sewing to show up.  I've cheated and made a digital "sticker" for the "Happy Birthday" greeting, and have used a silvery rainbow metallic thread to complete the design.

STICKER MASKS

A simple but effective way to use outline stickers is as a mask.  In this example I've sponged over some distress ink and then added a second layer of a darker brown ink over the top of the butterfly stickers.  Its a bit hard to see in the picture, but the middle section (wrapped in gold thread) is slightly raised above the base.  Its called "begin" because I'm doing a demo on such things in August and I had to start somewhere.........................
